Tom was throwing a fraudulent party, I was getting drunk, and we were going to the village!
Was actually a pretty sweet deal, we invited our tuk tuk driver and some of his friends and a few girls from the guest house next door to help us with all the beer
From there we went to karaoke. Was the nicest karaoke room I have been to, complete with a pool table
Then it was off to the village, 6 hour bus ride to Phnom Penh then 3 more hours to Aleac's home in Prey Veaeng province (waiting for the bus in Phnom Penh here). I never got the name of the village
After a nice bucket shower the first objective was buying a case of beer as the family prepared a welcome meal. This guy was crazy, he had a couple beers by 11am, then had to go to work. Claimed he is a doctor
Noticed throughout the village and have seen in other parts of Cambodia this is a popular way to store water
Walking tour of the village
The houses are similar to those in Laos, but this village was much better off than the one I stayed at in Laos.
The birthday girl
Had about 20 kids following us around. They were all terrified of the camera!
shop
The village is on a river
It's rainy season and it's about to start pouring!
A classroom, but I think there is a better school near by
This kid spoke the best English of anybody, really the only person who spoke English. I told him I am from Los Angeles, near Hollywood, the first thing he asked is if I know John Cena. It's crazy how big wrestling is in Asia
Kids coming back from school
This guy really wanted his picture taken
Temple and monastery about a 5 minute walk from Alaec's home
Dinner time, whole chicken, some fish and of course rice
House I stayed in
The house is basically one large room. 1 bedroom and a bathroom. The kitchen is downstairs.
Nice, but was this cambodian village the end of your trip? No more posts...
ReplyDeleteNo, I spent a few weeks in Phnom Penh and a few days on the beach after the village, will post that in the next couple days. Am in Chiang Mai, Thailand now.
